Appointments usually last an hour. But please free up time for Mickey to set up lights and cameras, hold the interview, and take some still photographers for in the project.

Yes is the simple answer to the question. Each appointment is set up as an individual session. Group sessions have been set up when I visited a senior living facility or many of the California Veterans Homes.

United States Army Corporal Korean War Before entering the service, Rudy wanted to be a teacher and had earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Rudy was drafted and underwent 18 weeks of basic training at a coastal location that included "fake battles.” During his training, he became a "crack shot,” was ranked first in rifle within his company, and was assigned as an acting sergeant during rifle practice. After basic training, Ruddy was assigned to the 44th Infantry Division. In 1953, the division was stationed at Fort Lewis for extensive training and to again provide West Coast defense. Rudy spent most of his two years of service with the 44th Infantry Division. Rudy eventually secured a job as a Troop Information and Education NCO. In this role, he held a security clearance and delivered weekly lectures to 200 men, including officers, on topics such as Southeast Asia and the impending conflict in Vietnam. Rudy was transferred to a heavy mortar company, which he considered the best unit to be in. During war games, he was assigned to guard his CO and also led an "aggressor force" that would sneak into camps at night to "steal" equipment to demonstrate vulnerabilities. Rudy was eager to begin his teaching career. At the end of his required service, he was honorably discharged and returned to graduate school. Rudy became a professor of mathematics at San Diego State University, where he worked until 1999. After retiring, he spent 15 years as a substitute teacher in high school physics and advanced math, finally retiring from teaching at age 88.
