Where can I donate?

I have created a way to accept donations to grow the project, use the WWII Veterans Portrait Series Go Fund Me.

Where are you located?

I live in the San Diego area but have traveled to many locations to interview and photograph Veterans.


How Long is an Appointment?

Appointments usually last an hour. But please free up time for Mickey to set up lights and cameras, hold the interview, and take some still photographers for in the project.

Do you accept reservations?

Yes is the simple answer to the question. Each appointment is set up as an individual session. Group sessions have been set up when I visited a senior living facility or many of the California Veterans Homes.

US NAVY ET-LT WW2 Born Jun 11th, 1942, Thomas Perks joined the U.S. Navy in 1960 to become an Electronics Technician (ET). Thomas served on active duty for 20 years and was a mustang at the end of his tour. During the Cuban missile crisis, he served as an enlisted E.T. aboard the USS Outpost (AGR-10), a Radar Picket ship converted from a WW2 Liberty ship. After the Outpost, he served at the primary electronics (A) school on instructor duty. Thomas was commissioned as a Warrant Officer while stationed in Guam on board the USS Proteus (AS-19), a Fulton-class submarine tender.  During the Vietnam War, Warrant Officer Perks served at his most memorable command with the Beach Jumper for 5 1/2 years. The Beach Jumpers were a Navy special warfare unit specialized in deception and psychological warfare. Lt Perks served at his final command on Point Loma, at Fleet Combat Directions Systems Support Activity (FCDSSA), where he helped redesign satellite communications systems. Thomas married his wife, Elaine, and they had two children. Walter retired from active duty in 1980.
