Where are you located?

I live in the San Diego area but have traveled to many locations to interview and photograph Veterans.


How Long is an Appointment?

Appointments usually last an hour. But please free up time for Mickey to set up lights and cameras, hold the interview, and take some still photographers for in the project.

Do you accept reservations?

Yes is the simple answer to the question. Each appointment is set up as an individual session. Group sessions have been set up when I visited a senior living facility or many of the California Veterans Homes.

US ARMY AIR CORPS / US AIR FORCE SGT World War 2 - Korean War Gordon Glain was born on October 12, 1928, and grew up in Crookston, Minnesota. He graduated from High School, Enlisted in the Army on 9 September 1946, and attended boot camp at Camp Lee in Virginia. Private Glain was then trained as an Army Clerk Typist MOS 405. He learned to use a typewriter to prepare mimeographs, stencils, military correspondence, endorsements, reports, and standard forms peculiar to military administrative tasks, among other duties. Gordon was stationed in Adak, Alaska, for 18 months and served as a supply clerk for the airfield operation. The base at Adak supported an airfield capable of strikes on Japan and was managed by the Air Force and Navy. PFC Glain completed his enlistment and returned to the United States. He was honorably discharged on 10 Jan 1948 and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal Japan, and his Honorable Service Lapel Pin, aka the “Ruptured Duck.” After the military, Gordon used the GI Bill to attend the University of Minnesota, concentrating on forestry and business. He stayed involved with the Air Force reserves and was called back to active duty during the Korean War in May of 1951. Gordon was reclassified and trained in aircraft hydraulic maintenance. He reported to March Air Force Base in California to the 320th Field Maintenance Squadron, assigned to the hydraulics shop for the fleet of Boeing B-29 Superfortress aircraft. Gordon completed his second enlistment as a sergeant and was again honorably discharged on 31 January 1953. Gordon returned to the forestry service, working at Mammoth Lakes for his first year of on-the-job training. He then spent 30+ years in the timber industry. He married Ms. Patsy in 1939, and they had two children.
